Cyprus Are Officially A Dying Class Of Accommodation
Guest houses or bed-and-breakfast accommodation in Cyprus are officially a dying class of accommodation, which means it’s no longer allowed to open a new establishment. An exception is made for the traditional houses which is a growing class both in popularity as in quantity. Some fifty years ago the rural communities in the mountains of Cyprus flourished due to the agricultural importance of these areas. Since younger generations moved to the cities many of the villages were starting to deteriorate and Cyprus faced losing a vital part of their cultural heritage. However, the uniqueness of the rural communities, their hospitality, the natural beauty and getting a glimpse of traditional country life are attracting a growing number of tourists.
