If they do not get you one place the credit card people will get you in another.  One way that I have started to save money on my credit cards is to cancel every credit card that charges me annual credit cards fees.   They are already making a large profit on the store owners that take the credit card.   Then they want to charge me a high interest rate if I do not pay it off each month.  And the fees they charge if your payment gets there day late would embarrass a bank robber.  No,  they get too many fees already.
